- Unplug or turn off devices on the affected circuit
- Reset the breaker at the panel
- Plug devices back in one at a time to find the cause
- If it keeps tripping, call us — it may need a panel upgrade
First, check whether the outlet is controlled by a nearby GFCI outlet — press its "Reset" button. If that doesn't fix it, we'll use a voltage tester to diagnose and repair or replace the outlet or switch.
Start with the simple checks — make sure bulbs are screwed in tightly and are the correct type for the fixture. If the problem continues, it may point to loose wiring or a faulty fixture that needs professional attention.
Intermittent power issues are often caused by loose wiring connections or a failing device. Inspect any visible connections for looseness, isolate which circuit or device is affected, and give us a call — this one usually needs a professional to diagnose safely.
